So we finally got around to testing our basement for radon—that odorless, colorless gas that can sneak into homes through cracks in the foundation. The kit came back with levels that were a bit higher than we'd hoped, which freaked us out a little. Now we're looking into a mitigation system, something with a vent fan to pull the gas out before it gets into our living space. It's one of those things you don't think about until it's right under your feet.
