A United Methodist congregation gathers in a modest brick church on a corner lot, where the choir's harmonies spill out on Sunday mornings and the coffee hour stretches past noon. Members run a small food pantry from the basement and host neighborhood block parties each summer, welcoming everyone from longtime families to college students passing through.
